100 years of unknown history of the Titanic

"Unveiling the Titanic: A Century of Luxury, Tragedy, and Mystery"

Incident of April 10, 1912. Titanic, the world's largest and most luxurious ship, sailed from Southampton to New York under the command of Captain Edward John Smith. A year before that, on May 31, 1911, the Titanic was first floated to sea. And around 100,000 people gathered to see that scene.

How was the Titanic?

The ship was built at Liverpool Docks in England. Starting from VIPs or passengers of different countries of the world to ordinary people, there was no shortage of excitement about Titanic. No matter the excitement, there were no such luxury ships at that time. About 110 years ago, the Titanic cost 7.5 million dollars to build, which is equivalent to 400 million dollars today. The facilities and decorations inside the ship are no less than a five star hotel.

There were stained glass windows, ornate oud panelling, 2 grand staircases, heated swimming pools, Turkish baths, electric baths, gyms, squash courts, 4 restaurants, a library, gardens, and even a salon. And 10,000 bulbs were added for its lighting. The passenger capacity was more than 3 thousand 3 hundred people. With such a large number of passengers and their cargo, the Titanic could run at a speed of 27 miles per hour. And the biggest thing is the Titanic's security system. The White Star Line Company claimed that it was a ship that would never sink. That is, so safe Titanic! Even the ship's designer, Thomas Andrew, claimed the Titanic was unsinkable.

Why was it said that the Titanic will never sink?

To answer this question, we have to go back 110 years ago, to know what actually happened in the Atlantic Ocean? What do you think the reason behind this claim of Thomas Andrew, the designer of Titanic and the manufacturer? The main reason for this can be found in the design of the Titanic. Titanic was called unsinkable for two main reasons.

Firstly, this ship had a 'double bottom hull' on the inside. That is, its main body had 2 layers. The advantage of having these 2 layers is that if the lower one is damaged for any reason, then the ship will not sink due to the other layer.

The second reason is that the entire ship's body was divided into 16 separate water tight compartments. That is, each was separate from the other and the intermediate passage doors were water resistant. Such a compartment was the first to be added to the Titanic, never before, in any other ship. Although this compartment system is currently used in every ship and submarine in the world.

If water starts to enter the ship in an accident, if the captain orders to close the compartment of the damaged part of the ship only, the water entering the ship will fill only one compartment of the ship, but the water cannot enter the rest of the ship. As a result, despite having huge holes in the ship, it can easily float in the water. However, in the case of Titanic, that 'water resistant compartment' or 'double bottom hull' was of no use. Because the impact was on the right side of the front of the ship.

Titanic and Conspiracy Theory

Even after all these years of this tragic shipwreck, there are many questions in people's minds about the Titanic conspiracy theory. And these are ripe on the 87th anniversary of this shipwreck, that is, in 1999, when Robin Gardner wrote his book: TITANIC: The Ship that Never Sank? - claimed that the Titanic never sank. And his claim is very similar to the testimony given by the alleged Titanic survivors.

According to surviving passengers, the logo of the sinking Titanic was different. And it's no match for the Titanic.

Even after a hundred years, the sinking of the Titanic still fascinates people, maybe in the future a new mystery will be created about it. Perhaps because of this, 110 years later, the Titanic still stands under the sea, witnessing the death of those 1517 passengers on April 15, 1912. Ballard rediscovered the Titanic under the sea on July 14, 1986, almost 74 years after that tragic event.

Ever since Ballard discovered the Titanic, people have been traveling in submarines. The places where these submarines landed on the Titanic have been scarred and have holes in many places. And while traveling, people have taken thousands of things from the ship. Many even took pieces of the ship! Since then, there have been demands for the preservation of the wreckage of the Titanic. Later, UNESCO declared the wreck of the Titanic as an Underwater World Heritage Site.
